What does fertility care for singles look like?
All patients who visit our San Antonio fertility specialist will discuss their medical history and family-building goals. They will also undergo fertility testing to learn more about their reproductive potential. If you’re a woman, this testing will likely involve a transvaginal ultrasound, bloodwork and a hysterosalpingogram (HSG). If you’re a man, you can expect to have a semen analysis.
Once Dr. Munch receives your test results, she will review them with you and discuss your options for fertility care for singles.
- Single men will need to pursue in vitro fertilization (IVF) with donor eggs and gestational surrogacy to have a biological child. An egg donor will provide the eggs, and another woman will be the surrogate and carry the pregnancy.
- Single women have a wealth of family-building options. The treatments available to you will vary depending on your test results. However, two of the most popular options include intrauterine insemination (IUI) with donor sperm and IVF with donor sperm.
