Find the tips you need to select a fertility clinic
Picking someone to help you start or grow your family is a huge decision. That’s why our San Antonio fertility clinic team recommends doing a little research and asking some important questions about each clinic you’re considering.
Are the fertility doctors board certified? Experience and training make a big difference when it comes to fertility doctors. You’ll want to visit a doctor who is a board certified reproductive endocrinologist. This designation means that a doctor has completed specialized training in both obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
Does the clinic offer a number of fertility treatments? Each fertility patient is different, so you should avoid any clinic that tries to use the same treatments for everyone. When you select a fertility clinic, you want to be sure that the practice offers options like intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilization (IVF), preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), donor eggs and fertility preservation.
How do the clinic’s SART success rates compare to the national averages? You can see a fertility clinic’s success rates by visiting SART. You can use this information to compare different clinics. However, you shouldn’t make your decision based on success rates alone because many factors can influence them. These include how many embryos a clinic transfers per cycle, the use of egg donors, and the age and diagnosis of the patients at the clinic.
