LGBTQ+ Family Building

LGBTQ+ family building options in San Antonio from a trusted leader in fertility treatment

When you decide it’s time to start or build a family, Texas Fertility Center physicians devote themselves to finding straightforward solutions to complex problems. For the LGBTQ+ community, fertility treatment will involve the same effective options and familiar terms that make conception possible for heterosexual infertile couples: intrauterine insemination (IUI) and in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Our San Antonio fertility clinic connects members of the LGBT community and unmarried individuals with family building fertility treatments. We adhere to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) guidelines for third party reproduction. Our board certified fertility specialist, Drs. Munch and Hudson, welcome your questions in a new patient consultation.

Where to begin?

The individualized plan that Drs. Munch and Hudson, designs will take into account your goals for conceiving a child. For example: Do you wish to share a biological connection? If you are a lesbian couple, which partner will participate in IUI or IVF?

The Texas Fertility Center team will help schedule your initial consultation, arrange for baseline fertility testing and explain your financial options. Insurance coverage can help manage the cost of fertility testing.

We are committed to making the LGBTQ+ family building process as stress-free and pleasant as possible. Conceiving a baby should be a joyful experience!

Family building options for lesbian couples

Donor sperm insemination provides many women with the most efficient way to have a baby. Drs. Munch and Hudson, performs intrauterine insemination in our San Antonio fertility clinic, gently guiding a catheter into the uterine cavity to transfer washed and prepared sperm. Prior to insemination, we may decide to incorporate fertility medications to induce ovulation.

If testing uncovers significant infertility issues, Drs. Munch and Hudson, may recommend IVF.

Whether you proceed with IUI or IVF, you will decide between a known or anonymous sperm donor. Reputable sperm banks screen and cryopreserve specimens and quarantine them for six months to ensure that when you feel ready to conceive with donor insemination or IVF, your donor sperm is ready for transport.

With donor insemination and IVF, you share a biological connection with your baby.

Family building options for gay couples
